2019-2020 Nominations & Elections

I want Clear Sky Elementary to be one of the best schools in Colorado.
  • I want my child to have a great school year — to learn and to have fun!
  • I want to help decide how PTO fundraising moneys are spent.
  • I want all the students at Clear Sky Elementary to be successful.

If the above statements are true, then help us help the school! Parent involvement is critical for a successful school, so volunteer as a PTO board member or a committee chair for 2019-2020. There are jobs that take no more than a couple hours a month, some that are seasonal, and a few that require a routine commitment.

Dedicated teachers, staff, and PARENTS help make Clear Sky Elementary a great school! Join us – it’s rewarding, it’s important, and it’s even fun!

Elections will be held at the PTO General Meeting on Monday, April 22nd at 6:00 p.m. in the Learning Commons. All candidates for board positions must be registered by April 1st. Please complete the online form below, or complete a paper form found in the school office.

The 2017-2018 committees are listed below. (Activities subject to change.)

    • Fall Festival — PTO hosts a family and community event each fall that includes carnival games, bounce houses, fall boutiques, and more. This committee works closely with the PTO Executive Board to manage all aspects of the Fall Festival.
    • Family Events — PTO sponsors family night events throughout the year, like movie nights. These events are wonderful opportunities for families and students to meet and socialize. This committee also hosts fun events for parents throughout the year like Moms and Muffins, and Donuts with Dudes. It coordinates all aspects of event planning like creating flyers, obtaining donations for raffles, ordering food and drink, and organizing volunteers to run the show.
    • Holiday Gift Shop — The holiday shop gives students the experience of choosing their own special holiday gifts for family and friends. It creates wonderful memories for the children while teaching them to budget their money and make their own decisions. Parent volunteers help the children pick that perfect gift for the price they want in a familiar, comfortable, and safe atmosphere. This committee is responsible for set up, tear down, and running the shop.
    • Rewards/Loyalty — There are many ways that we can earn easy money for Clear Sky. This committee manages the national Box Tops for Education program. It also helps coordinate gift card programs with King Soopers, as well as a smart phone app called Shoparoo. They provide detailed information to parents and staff about all of these programs, offer contests to encourage participation, and count and collect points.
    • Spring Event — Each spring PTO hosts a fundraising event. The past two years the event has been an adults-only party called “A Clear Sky Night.” It’s an evening event with food, an open bar, a DJ, and silent and live auctions. This committee works closely with the PTO Executive Board to determine what type of event we will host, as well as coordinate all aspects of the event.
    • Staff Appreciation — This committee plans, coordinates, and executes thoughtful events and activities for Clear Sky teachers, associates, and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week in May. It also coordinates small teacher gifts throughout the year and dinners for staff during parent/teacher conferences.

Select the committee from the dropdown list. If you wish to nominate more than one committee chair, continue down the form. If you wish to nominate more than three committee chairs, please complete the online form a second time.

    Thank you for your nominations!
